چکیده
The paper proposes the use of modal logic methods for the development of suitable notions of invariance for abstract argumentation. In particular, it investigates the use of bisimulation and quasi-injective bisimulation as adequate forms of invariance for the argumentation-theoretic notions of grounded extension and of credulous admissibility.

When are Two Arguments the Same? Equivalence in Abstract Argumentation
In abstract argumentation arguments are just points in a graph of attacks: they do not hold premisses, conclusions or internal structure. So is there a meaningful way in which two arguments, belonging possibly to different attack graphs, can be said to be equivalent? The paper argues for a positive answer and, interfacing methods from modal logic, the theory of argument games and the equational...
متن کاملA General Notion of Equivalence for Abstract Argumentation
We introduce a parametrized equivalence notion for abstract argumentation that subsumes standard and strong equivalence as corner cases. Under this notion, two argumentation frameworks are equivalent if they deliver the same extensions under any addition of arguments and attacks that do not affect a given set of core arguments. As we will see, this notion of equivalence nicely captures the conc...
متن کاملStratified Labelings for Abstract Argumentation (Preliminary Report)
argumentation frameworks [Dun95] take a very simple view on argumentation as they do not presuppose any internal structure of an argument. Abstract argumentation frameworks only consider the interactions of arguments by means of an attack relation between arguments. Definition 1 (Abstract Argumentation Framework). An abstract argumentation framework AF is a tuple AF = (Arg,→) where Arg is a set...

متن کاملOn the Equivalence of Logic-Based Argumentation Systems
Equivalence between two argumentation systems means mainly that the two systems return the same outputs. It can be used for different purposes, namely in order to show whether two systems that are built over the same knowledge base but with distinct attack relations return the same outputs, and more importantly to check whether an infinite system can be reduced into a finite one. Recently, the ...
